Scientifically Sound Information About Weight Loss and Fitness - A Rare Find, Galileo Health Partner

Writing about Weight Loss is one of my passions and there is an endless array of choices - quality choices. But it is indeed a rare find when you discover a reliable source for scientifically sound information about weight loss and fitness.

Quality choices exist for those seeking Weight Loss: there are world class nutrition and food programs, fitness centers are almost on every street corner, there's an endless array of equipment and gadgets, renowned diets are touted everywhere and books, websites and methodologies put all of the world's information on health, nutrition and fitness right at our finger tips. But how much of it scientifically sound?

My recent discovery of Galileo Health Partners was a real find. They are a consulting firm that provides fitness coaching using evidence-based physical activity and nutrition strategies. They are run by Vik Khanna, a Clinical Exercise Specialist certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and a Physician Assistant. He's an expert on how evidence based exercise strategies reduce health risks, improve quality of life and reduce the reliance on medical care for people with (or even those at risk) major chronic diseases such as: obesity, diabetes and heart disease.

More than the humbo jumbo you usually get with medically trained experts, I've found Mr. Khanna capable of translating complex exercise science and nutrition information into practical approaches you can embrace on your weight loss journey. His coaching practice works with individuals, as well as some of the biggest companies in the world.

According to their website: "His worksite wellness program at The Baltimore Life Companies has earned that firm a "Fit Friendly Company" designation from the American Heart Association. Vik is a Visiting Scholar at the Howard University Hospital". They also tout his work at the Robert H. Smith School of Busines, the Hahnemann Physician Assistant Program at Drexel University and the Howard County Police Department.

You can probably tell that he's on the east coast and a Washington, DC metro area provider but don't let that stop you from checking out his website and other offerings such as books and material that will arm you with scientifically sound information about weight loss and fitness.

Some of his work in the fitness world includes working with runners, rowers and

athletes participating in a wide variety of other sports. Vik is a road cyclist and runner, has 30 years experience in strength training and he has served as strength coach for the Artemis Bicycle Racing Team of Washington, D.C. and Team BBC of the

Baltimore Bike Club.

There is no question that this is a unique individual and their company is a rare find in the crowded world of weight loss.
