Ninety days before my sixtieth birthday, I began to experience some health issues that really concerned me. I didn't feel good, my head pounded for weeks on end, I had zero energy, I was fat and my blood pressure had skyrocketed to 183 over 100. Those rock-hard pectoral muscles I once possessed now were flabby and bounced up and down as I walked. I was starting to look like I needed a bra. That's not a good thing for a man who was once proud of his athletic ability and masculinity. I was beginning to experience some angina and was worried that I might have a heart attack or even a stroke. I felt my body was starting to decompose and when I awakened each morning, I was so tired I had to drag myself out of bed. I had chronic fatigue and needed to take a nap everyday.
How had I gotten this way? As a young man, I had competed in basketball, track, football, Olympic-style bicycle racing and boxing. At one time in my life, I was in good enough condition to jog twelve miles and, as a weightlifter, I had bench pressed more than 400 pounds. I was a professional boxing trainer for twenty years and spent several hours a day in the boxing gym working with professional athletes. I had the background and knowledge to be healthy and in great shape. But I wasn't.
That's when I decided to do something about my condition. I read my Bible and began to study the Old Testament dietary guidelines. I changed my diet and began to eat the healthy foods mentioned in the Word. I combined my diet with conditioning techniques I had used to train champion boxers. I accidentally developed a revolutionary new diet and conditioning system that produced amazing results.
All of the health problems that I suffered from disappeared in just a few weeks after I implemented these diet and exercise principles. My body literally began to reverse the aging process. I lost 40 pounds, reduced my blood sugar, increased my cardiovascular fitness level, and my blood pressure dropped from 183 over 100 to that of an 18 year old, (116 over 66). My body became lean and muscular again. I was a couch potato before, but now I am healthy again and can run for an hour or go 10 rounds in a boxing ring.
